PLEX PACK: 500+ Collection Icons & Letter Dividers (V5 2024-10-28)
I've got the beginnings of a new PLEX PACK: Flex Content and Pre-Roll Videos. First couple handfuls of short commercials w/ PLEX stingers are up. This will iterate and grow over time.

V5! UPDATED OCTOBER 2024!
I have added 12 variations of 46 new posters. 1 set has color logos with a black background, the rest have white logos on various colored backgrounds.
These are generally speaking either genre posters or channel posters. I will at some point do a collection of tv series based posters but, obviously, that is a little more personal in terms of selection and might be less useful for people at large. This color coded set is something I've wanted to do for a very long time.
I remember using PseudoTV on XBMC/Kodi a decade ago to simulate live tv with local media. I've done some experimenting with the Plex-based versions. Currently, I have a series of Smart Playlists that basically serve as my built-in live tv - I select a channel playlist and Shuffle. Not the same but it's been 'good enough' lately. One of the things I want from a more proper live tv style experience in Plex is color coding. Want channels with newly released movies/episodes to be green? Want all of your horror channels to be red? While these new additions are still collection/playlist artwork, channel logos for things like ErsatzTV will be coming. I currently have Black, Blue, Gray, Green, Light Blue, Light Green, Orange, Purple, Red, Soft Pink, and Teal backgrounds. I think I want to settle on 15 colors to eventually do variations on (With an expanded set of logos, still). It's a lot of work that I am looking forward to but a good chunk of the preliminary work is settling on colors and logos that will be most useful to others.
My end goal is to produce a spreadsheet with my channel set up along with thoughts behind my selection choice and what things to consider when making your own channels, playlist art, ersatzTV channel logos/watermarks, and text/video guides explaining any tricks you might find helpful and basic setup examples. I want to eventually create a full fledge, hand holding starter kit of some kind. The actual form that will take? I don't know exactly!
This new batch of Plex Collection Posters are a small subset of logos used on PlutoTV. The logos themselves have been lightly edited - Resized and in some cases I edited out references to PlutoTV or sponsors of the channel.
At some point before the end of the year I will do an organizational pass on what is offered in this PLEX PACK and use some of the newer features offered by Gumroad to make it easier to navigate and use.
That's it for now but I'm very grateful for everyone that has downloaded this. I also make YouTube videos over at https://youtube.com/@animalcrackerart where I do software videos (Plex sometimes, certainly more Plex to come) as well as videos about storytelling tools and other stuff and also have a Ko-Fi account https://ko-fi.com/animalcrackerart. Tipping is appreciated as well, as are subs on YouTube.
Thanks for downloading! Enjoy!

I've been an avid user of various home media software and for the last few years I have used PLEX a lot. I have gone and created over 150 icons to use as posters for your Genre Collections and what I call "Letter Dividers" - Think of them as the plastic separators that would stick out of the shelf at Blockbuster. Each JPG is 1000x1500, fitting into the PLEX expected aspect ratio for Collections.

BRIEF BREAKDOWN ON HOW I USE COLLECTIONS IN PLEX:
I make every genre based Collection a Smart Collection that will automatically include any film/show that has that Genre attached to it (This should give you a general base that will automatically include most of your media). More specific genres, like if you want a collection of Abduction-based Sci-Fi movies, should either be added to a manual Collection or a Smart Collection that looks for a tag of some sort (For anything more specific than the general Sci-Fi genre, you would most likely have to done some manual curation) as those aspects of the movies/shows won't generally be noted on the database sites the data is pulled from.
I also utilize the Sort Title to pick where I want these Collections to show. For Collections that aggregate a specific series (Like The Crow Collection that includes all of the movies and also the 1 season TV show The Crow: Stairway to Heaven, potentially also any Youtube videos I've found and archived related to the comic or movie series), I generally want those to just sit in line with all the movies in my Library.
But any collection that covers a Genre or Timeframe or Network/Studio I would want to surface to the top of my library. For those, I add a symbol in the Sort Title. By giving each 'type' of Collection - Genre, Studio, Timeframe, etc - a unique symbol in their Sort Title I can group the collections together at the top of my library.
For the Letter Dividers we can do it the same way. Using the advanced filters, look for all items that begin with a specific letter and save it as a Smart Collection (We will want to set the Item Visibility to Show This Collection and Its Items generally).
And then, another visual cue to help you navigate your library. I don't know how many people will find this interesting but it is something I am toying around with.
Please let me know if there is any changes, alternate versions, genres, etc. Any updates here should be pushed to you at no additional cost.
